I’m a big fan of tv sets.
I often loose focus in the show because i’m too busy looking at the art on the walls and furniture…and the dishes…
One of my favorite all time tv sets is Courtney Cox’s show Cougar Town.
I already want to live in Florida.
Or pretty much anywhere where there is NO SNOW.
Sooo I basically almost died when I saw her beachy home:
I mean hello!?
That coral couch is so grandma but gorgeous.
What really got me was that beautiful painting on the wall.
After much, much (and i mean MUCH) scouring the web for any information on the artist I discovered through this blog that it sits
happily sadly in a prop house when not on set filming.
AND it’s completely unsigned.
Oh my heart!
It’s from the 1950’s and
sigh cry stomp I will never own it.
An art print does not even exist.
So I did what anyone else crazy would do.
I made my own tiny mini version on the computer.
I should have taken the time to paint it on canvas - and I probably will at a later date - but for now…this will do:
The lines are completely wobbly and the shapes are all wonky but I don’t care one bit.
I love it.
I cannot wait to get a tacky gold frame for it and hang it up!
It’s the little things.
Our Halloween was super.
I was a deer. *Although no one could tell that’s what i was!?
My son was a Lego Man.
Here are some photos… if you’re into that sorta thing.
Deer Make-Up with sticks as Antlers and floral headband. Tutorial can be found here: Deer Make-Up
Front of Lego Man: body made from cardboard box and painted to look like his favorite Lego Man. head is made from two foam wreathes and poster board spray painted yellow. (no tutorial link as I kinda used bits and pieces from pinterest and made it my own! but there are plenty on the web for next Halloween!)
…and the back. Watching him walk in this was pretty fantastic.
