he made this batch all by himself…minus the oven part obviously.
i think a kid in the kitchen is the sweetest ever.
it’s there where i know i’m teaching him things he will never forget.
and where bonding time is the dessert.

i’m loving this today. can’t always help those who don’t want it and sometimes you just gotta keep your mouth zipped up nice and tight…even if it’s someone you super care about.
My favorite vintage mug.
It says 1988 on it.
Makes me feel crazy old because it’s vintage and i was alive and playing with barbies and collecting plastic charms for bracelets and necklaces…
Which means i’m vintage too.
That’s a gross thought really.
But…
It’s the perfect coffee cup for a friday!

The little guy is working on his kindergarten valentines today.
Instead of trying to outwit other crafty moms and make valentines by hand this year I strolled over to tinyprints.com and ordered them!
They arrived and I swear I giggled and gushed over how cute they were for a half hour.
They are tiny.
And precious.
We are, of course, tying them to a pencil so the kids can do the maze.
Serious love right there.

Off to celebrate some birthday’s today.
One of which is my cutest almost 11 year old niece.
I’m on a cake decorating kick right now…
borderline obsessive…
and pinterest does not help matters.
So I made her a special cake with a cute little wiener dog (dachshund) on the top!
It’s adorable really.
It’s a mini 3 layer vanilla cake with purple ombre frosting…topped with a little pup made of marshmallow fondant.
So so SO fun!
I love a mini cake.
Makes my heart all happy.

It was one of those days where I just wanted to play with my little boy.
No work.
No phone.
No tv.
Or email.
Or dishes.
Laundry.
Blah.
Just me + him…
and two big white sheets.
I grabbed a piece of twine, which held our christmas tree to the car last week, and two command hooks…
and made a cute little tent.
I hung lights…
a big paper star…
added blankets and pillows…
and two hours later he had a magical tent in which to read or relax.
It is adorable.
I’d be lying if I said I was not inspired by one of my favorite christmas movies THE HOLIDAY.
Sometimes you just have to be…
little again…
happy and silent…
hiding the world away with clean white sheets.
